Your First Skin Clinic Visit in Korea

Korean clinics move quickly and can feel very different from a medspa at home. Knowing the steps in advance makes the day calm and lets you ask the right questions.

Quick answer

A typical first visit runs: check-in with your passport, a short medical questionnaire, an optional skin analysis, a consultation with the doctor, a written price quote, payment, numbing (if needed), treatment, and aftercare instructions. For simple treatments the whole visit often takes one to two hours. At YAAN Clinic an English-speaking coordinator stays with you throughout.

Step by step

  1. Before you arrive — message the clinic with your dates, concerns and photos so the doctor can review them. See booking in English.
  2. Check-in — bring your passport. You’ll fill in a questionnaire about allergies, medicines, pregnancy and past treatments.
  3. Skin analysis (optional) — a 3D skin analysis is listed at ₩100,000 on our price list; many patients go straight to the doctor.
  4. Doctor consultation — the doctor examines your skin and recommends a plan, including downtime. Standard consultation ₩10,000, director consultation ₩30,000, both waived with treatment.
  5. Written quote — check brand, dose, VAT and extras before paying. Use our charges checklist.
  6. Numbing and treatment — numbing cream usually needs 20–40 minutes for lasers and injections.
  7. Aftercare — you’ll get instructions on washing, makeup, sun and exercise. Ask for them in English and save them on your phone.

What to bring

  • Passport (for registration)
  • A list of medicines and supplements, especially blood thinners
  • Photos of previous treatment results or reactions
  • Sunglasses, a hat and a mask for the trip back to your hotel

Come with a clean face

Arrive without heavy makeup if you can; the clinic will cleanse your skin before treatment. Avoid booking your first visit on the same day as your flight — read before flying home.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a first visit take?

For consultation plus a simple treatment such as Botox or pico toning, plan one to two hours. Device lifting or combined treatments take longer because of numbing time.

Do I need my passport?

Yes, bring it. Clinics register patients by ID, and you may need it for card payment.

Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?

Often yes. See same day treatments for what usually works in one visit.
