Gangnam Guide for Skin Treatment Visitors

Gangnam is Seoul’s main hub for skin and aesthetic clinics. Here’s how to get around, where to base yourself, and how to fit treatments between sightseeing.

Quick answer

Gangnam sits south of the Han River and is well connected by subway Lines 2, 7, 9 and the Shinbundang Line. YAAN Clinic is in the Samseong/COEX side of Gangnam, a five-minute walk from Bongeunsa Station (Line 9), Exit 7, opposite the historic Bongeunsa Temple and close to COEX Mall.

Getting here from Incheon Airport

Option Time Approx. cost
AREX to Gimpo Airport, then Line 9 to Bongeunsa 70–90 min ₩5,000–7,000
Airport limousine bus to COEX/Samseong area 80–100 min ₩17,000
Taxi 60–75 min ₩70,000–100,000

Times and fares are typical and depend on traffic. Full directions, including the Korean address to show a taxi driver, are on our Incheon Airport to YAAN Clinic guide.

Getting around Gangnam

  • Subway: buy or top up a T-money card at any convenience store; it works on subways, buses and many taxis.
  • Line 9: both express and local trains stop at Bongeunsa, so either works.
  • Taxis are plentiful; show the destination in Korean to avoid confusion.
  • Maps: Korean map apps (Naver Map, KakaoMap) are more accurate for walking and transit directions than many international apps.

Near the clinic

  • Bongeunsa Temple — a centuries-old Buddhist temple right across from COEX, calm and good for a slow walk after treatment.
  • COEX Mall & Starfield Library — indoor shopping and food, useful if you want to stay out of the sun after a laser.
  • Garosu-gil, Apgujeong and Cheongdam — boutiques and cafés a short taxi ride west.

Where to stay

Staying near Samseong, Seolleung or Sinnonhyeon keeps you on Line 9 or Line 2 with a short ride to the clinic. If you are having treatments with some swelling or redness, being close to your hotel makes rest and follow-up visits easier. Compare neighbourhoods in our best areas in Seoul guide.

Plan your days around treatment

Book consultations early in your trip, keep the most active sightseeing for days after no-downtime treatments, and leave a buffer before your flight — see before flying home.
