What is a Q-switched laser, and what does it treat?
A Q-switched laser (such as Nd:YAG 1064/532 nm) fires very short nanosecond pulses that break up pigment. At higher energy it removes spots and tattoo ink; at low energy it is used for laser toning of dull tone and melasma.
At YAAN Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, many pigment treatments now use picosecond lasers, which are faster still. Spot and tattoo treatments are quoted at consultation.
